Sacred Mayonnaise
with Miche Fabre Lewin
Sunday 26 July 2026
2–6 pm
A ritual experience, hands-on workshop, conversation and long table meal with artist-cuisinière Miche Fabre Lewin.
For more than two decades, Miche has enacted Sacred Mayonnaise as an ecological food ritual across food, farming, agriculture and arts festivals. In this intimate afternoon at socialbar, she invites us into the slow, alchemical art of making mayonnaise by hand with organic eggs, oil, lemon and salt — transforming simple ingredients into something unctuous, healthful and alive with attention.
The workshop will gather around the making, tasting and sharing of food. Together, we will prepare mayonnaise by hand, explore its ritual and sensory qualities, then sit down at a long table to share seasonal produce, conversation and the mayonnaise made in the room.
More than learning to make mayo, this is an invitation to cultivate the senses, enliven our relationship with others around food and to honour the sacred in the everyday. Each participant leaves with their own pot of sacred mayonnaise.
Includes: ritual workshop, conversation, seasonal produce feast and a pot of sacred mayonnaise to take home.
