About us

socialbar is the creation of husband and wife duo Steve and Sarah. Steve grew up in nearby Framlingham and met Sarah, a Korean American originally from Los Angeles, before making London her home.

They were drawn to Saxmundham, Suffolk for its unique character — a town with history, heart and a quietly growing creative energy.

socialbar works with small-scale winemakers, brewers, roasters and producers who take a thoughtful, sustainable approach — letting the land, the seasons and time-honoured methods guide what they make.

The space itself carries that same spirit. Set in a reimagined Georgian building that was once a bakery and later Ray’s Shoe Repair, the café and wine bar blends original brickwork and raw textures with a clean, unfussy industrial design.

Whether you're catching up with friends over coffee or sharing a board game and glass of wine with a stranger, socialbar is a space where you can slow down, feel grounded and be part of a shared sense of community.
