The Emotional Needs and Resources – A workshop at socialbar
Monday 22 September
Doors open 6pm
Led by Steve Peck, Human Givens therapist & co-owner of socialbar
What does it mean to truly thrive? From the smallest plant to the most complex animal, every living organism has a set of essential needs. When these needs are met, the organism flourishes; when they're not, it struggles.
So what are the fundamental needs of a human being, and how can we use our innate resources to meet them?
Join us for an informal evening exploring these questions and more, through honest conversation, shared insights and practical takeaways. Drawing on a needs and resources-based model of mental and physical health, we’ll discuss what's required for healthy growth and explore the innate resources we possess to achieve balance and resilience.
Whether you're navigating challenges, supporting others or striving for a more fulfilling life, understanding your fundamental needs and resources is a powerful tool.
What to expect:
– Relaxed, guided conversation
– Small group discussions
– Practical tips you can use
– Wine, coffee & snacks, including mini brioche sandwiches and cheese and charcuterie boards, available to buy. We kindly ask that you leave outside drinks and food at home
– Doors open a 6 pm | Workshop runs 6.30–9.30pm with a long break | Bar open until 10pm
Suggested donation: £10 – all proceeds go to Suffolk Mind, whose work is grounded in the same Human Givens approach we’ll explore in the workshop.
If you've already donated to Suffolk Mind at our previous workshop, please don't feel obliged to donate again. However, your donation of any amount, including £1, will help fund Suffolk Mind's mission of making Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.
Seats are limited – reserve yours now. If you can’t make it, please let us know at hello@visitsocialbar.com so someone else can join.
This is part of our new series of free, open-invite talks at socialbar — because real conversations matter.
