In an age of constant connection, do we truly feel more connected?
Join us at socialbar for an evening of reflection, conversation and connection — with discussion led by Steve Peck, Human Givens psychotherapist and socialbar co-owner.
This free workshop-style gathering will open up honest dialogue about loneliness: why it can be so difficult to name, how it appears in different phases of life and what helps us move toward deeper, more satisfying connection — with others and within ourselves.
Whether you’re single and tired of pretending independence is enough, in a relationship but feeling disconnected or navigating the quiet ache of disconnection despite being surrounded by people, this space is for you. Together we’ll explore the reality behind the narratives: the struggle to build friendships, the vulnerability of opening up and the universal need for intimacy, belonging and emotional connection.
The evening will blend group conversation with smaller breakout discussions.
Tickets are free, but please donate what you can, with a suggested donation of £10.
100% of proceeds go to Community Fridge Saxmundham, a local initiative many of you will know for their brilliant work reducing food waste and increasing social connection in our town and surrounding villages.

– We ask that you leave outside food and drink at home and enjoy what’s on offer from our bar on the night. We will have soft drinks, beer, wine and snacks for purchase.
– Seating is limited to around 25 people. If demand exceeds this, we’ll explore how to accommodate a few more.
